[Updated August 4] Operating Status of Our Propert

We would like to express our deepest sympathies to all those affected by the 2026 Kumamoto Earthquake.

Our thoughts are with everyone who continues to face uncertainty, and we sincerely pray for their safety and for the earliest possible recovery and reconstruction of the affected areas.

Operating Status of Our Property and the Yufuin Area

Following the earthquake, we conducted inspections of our buildings, facilities, utilities, and other essential infrastructure.

As of this announcement, no damage that would significantly affect accommodations or services at our property has been identified, and we are operating as usual.

The following five properties operated by our group in the Yufuin area are also open and operating as usual. At present, there are no facilities or services that are unavailable due to the earthquake.

  • Yufuin Bettei Itsuki
  • Yufuin Baien GARDEN RESORT
  • Toshoan
  • Gekkoju Yufuin
  • Tabi no Kura

We have also conducted on-site driving inspections of the roads between Yufuin Interchange, central Yufuin, and each property. No road closures or traffic restrictions have been identified.

As we have received inquiries from guests regarding our operating status and transportation access, we would like to provide information on the main routes to Yufuin.

For Guests Traveling by Car

Guests traveling from Fukuoka or Saga may take the Kyushu Expressway to Tosu Junction, continue onto the Oita Expressway, and exit at Yufuin Interchange.

According to an announcement issued by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism as of 4:30 p.m. on August 3, the main expressway closures caused by the earthquake include sections such as the Kyushu Expressway between Matsubase Interchange and Ebino Interchange.

The route described above, from Tosu Junction via the Oita Expressway, is not included in the affected sections.

We have conducted on-site driving inspections of the roads between Yufuin Interchange, central Yufuin, and each property, and no road closures or traffic restrictions have been identified.

From Oita and Beppu

Guests traveling from Oita or Beppu may take the Oita Expressway, exit at Yufuin Interchange, and continue to central Yufuin.

As of 4:30 p.m. on August 3, the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism announced that there were no earthquake-related closures on national highways under its jurisdiction and that access along National Route 57, a major route to the affected area, remained available.

The route from Kumamoto Interchange to Yufuin via National Route 57 and Prefectural Route 11, or the Yamanami Highway, is a major route connecting Kumamoto and Yufuin. The official Oita Prefecture tourism website also recommends a route using National Route 57 and Prefectural Route 11 from Kumamoto Interchange.

Please note that both directions of the Kyushu Expressway between Matsubase Interchange and Ebino Interchange remain closed. However, the route described above from Kumamoto Interchange to Yufuin via National Route 57 does not pass through the closed section.

From Miyazaki

Guests traveling from Miyazaki are advised to take the Higashi-Kyushu Expressway toward Oita, enter the Oita Expressway at Hiji Junction, and exit at Yufuin Interchange.
